Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
NRMEDD is a designated Economic Development District through the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). As the regional planning organization for Gallatin and Park Counties, NRMEDD is responsible for creating and maintaining the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a strategy-driven plan that identifies regional priorities for economic and community development.
About CEDS
In partnership with Gallatin County, NRMEDD provides economic and community development services across the region. The CEDS is developed in alignment with current EDA guidelines and shaped through a regionally owned planning process that brings together representatives from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
The purpose of the CEDS is to build regional capacity, guide long-term economic prosperity and resiliency, and create a framework that enables local projects to become eligible for federal economic development funding.
A Collaborative Process
The CEDS reflects a shared regional vision built through collaboration. Input from community leaders, businesses, nonprofits, and local governments ensures the strategy is grounded in real-world challenges and opportunities across Gallatin and Park Counties.
Oversight & Leadership
The CEDS is guided by NRMEDD’s Strategy Committee, a cross-sector group representing organizations across both counties. The committee maintains the strategy and facilitates regional economic development efforts.
Vision for the Region
The CEDS vision supports thoughtful growth and increased regional collaboration across Gallatin and Park Counties. It provides a foundation for long-term economic vitality and shared prosperity.
